EDIT DECISION LIST FORM EXAMPLE

How do I specify what I want to capture from the video tape?

You have two options besides saying to capture everything on the tape. You may sit down with us in our studio and we can go through it together, or you can fill out an “Edit Decision List” that will tell us what to transfer.

Example: Let’s say you have wedding video and the first 40 minutes and 12 seconds is the wedding ceremony, the next 10 minutes and 5 seconds consists of your cousin talking about her last vacation, the rest of the tape is the wedding reception. You probably don’t want your cousin talking about her vacation onto your final DVD. To eliminate this part, you need to specify “Start Time” and “End Time” on the Edit Decision List (below). Indicate the description of the video clip, whether you would like it a “Scene Selection” button along with the Scene Title.

 00:00:00

IMPORTANT:
Make sure you rewind your source tape all the way to the beginning then eject the tape and insert it back into your video player. This will reset your video player’s counter to 00:00:00. Now you can begin writing down your “Start and End Times” as you play/fast forward your tape. This is an important step because we will also rewind to the beginning to reset our clock to 00:00:00 and start locating your “Start/End” times.  If you don’t follow this step your time code will not be accurate.
